Five menu favourites to look out for in our new Cambridge restaurant
As excitement continues to build for the opening of the Cambridge branch of Middletons Steakhouse & Grill, marketing manager Kirstie Blanchette takes you through the five most popular dishes to try from Monday December 7.
The Middletons Grill, our signature dish, has been on the menu since we opened our very first restaurant in Middleton, near King’s Lynn, in 2011. The 6oz sirloin or rib-eye is a tasty start to this feast of succulent meat while the very moist piri piri chicken breast on the bone is cooked fresh to order. The pair supplement the slow-cooked sticky BBQ ribs that melt in your mouth and, if you’ve still got room, there’s onion rings, your choice of one side and a light sprinkling of chilli and spring onion garnish to provide that little kick to the taste explosion.
It’s not just the marvellous meat, sourced from our own butchery, that’s got people talking about Middletons across the east of England. You can enjoy lobster, delivered fresh on the day, on its own or as part of a surf and turf from the grills section of our menu. Served to your table with a choice of one side as a half or whole offering, the choice of garlic butter or classic thermidor sauce only adds to the mouth-watering extravaganza that this iconic seafood offering provides.
Roast dinner (Sundays only)
Sunday roasts will always be a favourite – especially at this time of the year. And with three slow-cooked tender meats to choose from, our Sunday roast offering continues to be a big hit. Served on a plate brimming with fresh roasted seasonal vegetables, cauliflower cheese, a giant Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes, this filling meal is hard to beat. When served as part of the three-course Sunday set menu deal for just £19.95 the incredible value is just too good to turn down. We recommend garlic mushrooms and sticky toffee pudding to complete this sensational Sunday best.
This 8oz fillet beef wellington is made from scratch in our kitchens every morning and is cooked to order. You can have it served pink or well done and it comes with English mustard, mushrooms, herbs, parma ham, spinach and shortcrust pastry – as well as your choice of one side. The buttery and rich pastry helps keep the juices in with the meat-soaked crust providing a classic offering. It’s a dish that seems less available elsewhere these days but Middletons are happy to be able to bring it back to your table.
Still got room to squeeze in one more course? Then the crème brûlée remains one of the finest options from our selection of classic desserts. The satisfying crack of the crunchy caramel remains a retro restaurant sound before it, the creamy custard and shortbread biscuit are devoured. The dish has been served by us since day one and can also be enjoyed as part of our prime set menu, which features three courses for £19.95*. It remains the perfect way to round off your dining experience when partnered with something from our wide range of refreshing hot beverages.
