Middletons Leicester steakhouse opens October 14
Leicester’s showpiece new steakhouse will open its doors to the public for the first time on October 14 in one of the city’s most historic buildings.
Work to transform the Grade II* listed former NatWest Bank building on St Martin’s into our new 200-seat Steakhouse & Grill is well underway.
The former bank, designed in 1900 in the baroque revival style, is undergoing a sympathetic renovation costing up to £1.5million.
Managing director Steve Hutton said the painstaking restoration work includes refurbishing the original doors and panels, made from incredibly rare Brazilian mahogany.
“As the work has progressed we’re increasingly aware of what a magnificent building this is,” he added.
“The huge former banking hall, based on ancient Roman architecture, is an amazing space and we can’t wait to throw open our doors and welcome the people of Leicester to our most ambitious project to date.”
Leicester will be our sixth restaurant to date, with five thriving restaurants in Norwich, Milton Keynes, Watford, and Colchester following the first, at Middleton near King’s Lynn.
The perfect burger at Middletons
The Middletons menu that has proved so popular elsewhere in the country includes a range of prime steaks, a signature mixed grill, seafood and vegetarian options, along with freshly-made classic desserts.
“We pride ourselves on outstanding service, fair pricing and quality surroundings, with a specialist lunch menu and roasts on Sundays,” said Mr Hutton.
